ILLIT is gearing up for their Japanese 2nd single release with the debut of 'Armor' concept photos for 'I Got Your Back.' The visuals arrive ahead of the song's digital release on July 26, followed by a CD release three days later.

The concept frames fashion and accessories as armor—literal weapons the five members use to protect themselves while moving forward in the world. Rather than treating clothing and makeup as mere decoration, the styling becomes a visual metaphor for the self-determination and resilience ILLIT brings to their artistry. The photos capture the group wielding their aesthetic as a form of strength and identity.

This release continues ILLIT's momentum in Japan following their successful debut. The BELIFT LAB group—made up of Koreans YUNAH, MINJU, and WONHEE alongside Japanese members MOKA and IROHA—has already made significant waves since their March 2024 debut. Their debut single 'Magnetic' set records as a K-pop girl group debut track, becoming the fastest to 100 million Spotify streams and marking the first K-pop group debut song to chart on the Billboard Hot 100.

Their Japanese activity has been equally impressive. Earlier this year, they released 'Almond Chocolate' as their first original Japanese song, which served as the theme for the film 'I Like You, Not Just Your Face.' The group also claimed the rookie award at the 66th Japan Record Awards and made their NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen debut in December.

It's worth noting that member MOKA is currently on hiatus for recovery, meaning 'I Got Your Back' will feature the remaining four members. Despite this, the group continues to build on their reputation as one of the most exciting new acts bridging K-pop and the Japanese market.
