The Ishigaki Music Festival 2026 has unveiled its second round of performers ahead of the event's September 19 date in Morioka, Iwate Prefecture. The festival will take place primarily at Morioka Castle Ruins Park and surrounding venues.

The newly announced artists include The Cro-Magnons, Non & the Tears of Knight, SA, and The Bawdies. These acts join previously announced performers Hey-Smith, Kuzira, Kyuso Nekokami, Mayson's Party, Shiseikyuu, Tetora, and others across the festival's multiple stages.

The festival spans both paid and free stages throughout the city. Paid performances will happen at the Ishigaki Stage and Azumaya Stage in the castle ruins park, while free stages are scattered across the city including venues at Morioka Station, Crossterrace, and various community spaces.

Ticket pre-orders for the lottery drawing are open through July 1 via E-Plus. This represents an opportunity to catch a diverse lineup of Japanese rock and indie acts in one of Japan's regional cultural hubs.

The Ishigaki Music Festival traces its roots back to 2006 when it started as the "Morioka Castle Ishigaki Culture Festival," designed to activate the downtown area and make use of the historic castle ruins park as a community gathering space. The festival has evolved into a significant regional music event that continues this mission of cultural revitalization.

With its mix of established and emerging acts across rock, indie, and alternative genres, the 2026 edition maintains the festival's tradition of bringing quality live music to central Morioka while drawing attention to the city's cultural venues and public spaces.
