Rapper Jambo Lacquer is gearing up for a busy summer with the announcement of his new album TABIJI and his first-ever solo live performance.

The album drops in stages: digital release on June 15, followed by CD and cassette on July 15, and a 2LP vinyl edition on September 16. It's his first full project in a year since DUH MOMENT and marks his fourth solo album overall. The 10-track record (including instrumental pieces) features Jambo Lacquer's signature production style through his BomJa Break alias, while bringing in heavy-hitter collaborators to add depth throughout.

The lineup reads like a who's who of the Japanese underground music scene. Keyboardist and frequent partner Kazuhiko Maeda appears multiple times, while the album also features DJ Mitsu the Beats (from GAGLE), rapper LIBRO, saxophonist/flutist KenT (Soulflex), trumpeter Yuki Nagano, and DJ MO-RI on scratches. The first preview track, "TEYUUKA" featuring Maeda, arrives tomorrow (May 29) and blends retro-tinged beats with Brazilian music influences.

On the live front, Jambo Lacquer is taking a different approach for his debut solo concert. Usually performing solo from a "cockpit" setup where he operates the equipment himself, the July 5 show at Tokyo's WWW X will feature a special band arrangement. Maeda (keys), KenT (horn), and DJ MO-RI (scratch) will accompany him, reimagining his catalog with fresh arrangements. The night will also include special guest appearances from beatmakers Olive Oil and Sweet William, plus sets from collaborators LIBRO and DUSTY HUSKY, with his crew members Chipulso and Bugimaru also appearing.

Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 8 PM. For fans curious about the new sound, "TEYUUKA" launches May 29, with the full album arriving June 15.
