Kataomoi Announces 7-Inch Vinyl Debut at New Year Concert

Indie band Kataomoi will give fans an exclusive first look at their upcoming 7-inch analog record "Machikado Entotsu Club / Heartful Eight" (Street Corner Chimney Club / Heartful Eight) during their solo concert at Yokohama Nigiwai-za on January 31st.

The show, titled "Kataomoi no Shinshun! Nigiwai Warai(show!)taimu" (Kataomoi's New Year! Lively Laugh Show Time), marks a special start to 2025 for the group. The venue sale gives attendees first access to the physical release before its wider distribution.

Kataomoi, whose name translates to "one-sided love," has built a dedicated following in Japan's indie music scene with their melodic approach and emotional songwriting. The choice to release on 7-inch vinyl reflects the ongoing revival of analog formats among Japanese indie artists and collectors.

Yokohama Nigiwai-za, located in the historic Noge district, provides an intimate setting for the performance. The venue's smaller capacity ensures a close connection between the band and their audience during this special preview event.

The two-track release features "Machikado Entotsu Club" and "Heartful Eight," though details about the songs' themes and musical direction haven't been revealed yet. For fans unable to attend the Yokohama show, the wider release details for the 7-inch will likely be announced soon.
