Kenshi Yonezu has released the music video for 'Yodaka', the theme song for the fifth live-action Kingdom film. The track dropped digitally on July 13, ahead of the movie's Japanese cinema release on July 17.

Director Oudai Kojima, collaborating with Yonezu for the first time, frames the singer as an ancient artifact cracking through stone to walk among museum exhibits. Kojima reflected on the concept: "Thinking of ourselves 2,000 years from now, when we too will one day become museum exhibits." The visual metaphor mirrors the film's source material—Yasuhisa Hara's manga about protagonist Shin, a war orphan who rises through the ranks of Qin during China's Warring States period. Yonezu found kinship in Shin's ambition to become a Great General Under the Heavens despite his humble origins.

'Yodaka' is a large-scale rock number that opens on breakbeats and layers in East Asian instrumentation, including the shinobue flute. The song was written specifically for the film.

Yonezu, who works as an illustrator as well as a musician, created the single's cover artwork himself—a consistent practice across most of his releases.

Along with the track's release, a special interactive website called Karasu × Yodaka: Wild Bird Watching launched, pairing 'Yodaka' with 'Karasu' ('Raven'), Yonezu's 2026 NHK soccer theme. Yonezu described the two songs as "spiritual twins." The site lets listeners play either track through an integrated player, sending their chosen bird into a shared sky connected in real time with listeners worldwide. Users can capture and save an image of the sky at the moment they listen and share it using the hashtag #野鳥観察リスニング (#WildBirdWatchingListening).
