Kento Nakajima is about to prove he's a true chameleon in the upcoming rom-com Love ≠ Comedy, hitting theaters July 3. New behind-the-scenes photos show the actor in at least three drastically different looks—crisp school uniform, sharp butler suit complete with sword, and casual radio personality at the microphone.

In the film, Nakajima plays Reiji Kanzaki, a charming 30-year-old actor known as "handsome from every angle," who unexpectedly lands a lead role in a traditional romance comedy. The premise follows his character's growth as he meets Minami Nanakaze, an idol played by Neru (formerly of Keyakizaka46), his co-star in the film-within-a-film.

What makes this project particularly interesting is the sheer range on display. Nakajima reportedly wears over 30 different outfits throughout the movie, each showcasing a distinct side of his character. The released stills hint at the variety producers promise—from the fresh-faced student aesthetic to the dignified butler look to the more relaxed radio host vibe.

Nakajima has built a solid post-idol career since leaving Sexy Zone in March 2024. He's appeared in everything from live-action manga adaptations like Silver Spoon and Nisekoi to prestige dramas, and recently made waves hosting Oscar coverage for Japanese broadcaster WOWOW. He's also hosted his own film-focused interview series on the network, demonstrating genuine passion for cinema beyond just acting.

Neru brings her own impressive resume to the project. After leaving Keyakizaka46 in 2019, she's starred in major productions including the NHK morning drama Soar High! and multiple primetime dramas. She's currently appearing in the TV Asahi series The Komé Woman.

With chemistry to explore, comedy to mine, and a visually striking lead performance, Love ≠ Comedy shapes up as a solid summer date-movie option for fans of both leads.
