Girl group Kep1er has announced that member Yeongeun will be leaving the group, with the remaining six members continuing activities as a complete unit.

Kep1er originally debuted as a nine-member group formed through Mnet's survival show "Girls Planet 999" in 2021. The group featured members from South Korea, China, and Japan, creating an international lineup that gained significant attention in both K-pop and J-pop circles.

Yeongeun, one of the Korean members, joined Kep1er after competing on the survival program alongside contestants from across Asia. Her departure marks another change for the group, which has seen various member adjustments since their formation.

The group's Japanese fanbase has been particularly strong, with several of their releases performing well on Japanese charts. Members Mashiro and Hikaru, both Japanese, have helped bridge the gap between K-pop and J-pop audiences.

While the announcement doesn't specify the reasons for Yeongeun's departure, the remaining members are expected to continue their promotional activities as planned. Fans can expect the six-member configuration to maintain their signature sound and performance style.

Kep1er's future releases and tour plans will now feature the adjusted lineup, though no specific timeline for upcoming projects has been revealed yet.
