KO1KEYZ has officially locked in their debut date. The 12-member boy group formed through the survival reality show PRODUCE 101 JAPAN 新世界 will drop their Japanese debut single on October 7, bringing both their Japan and Korea debuts to the same day.

The group consists of 10 Japanese members—DAIKI, YOSHIKI, YUKI, ISSA, KEITO, YURA, RYOGA, RYUJI, KOSUKE, and TOWA—plus two Korean members, SIYOUNG and SHINHAENG. They were revealed as the final lineup after the show's finale aired on June 6, 2026, and officially formed later that same day.

The group's name carries real meaning. KO1KEYZ references being "selected through the pure 'love' of national producers and SEKAI producers," while also representing the idea of becoming "the key that opens the door to a new world" and inviting fans to play along. The name plays on the Japanese word "koi" (恋), meaning romance or love.

Their October debut single—title to be announced—will include three tracks that defined their journey on the show: the concept evaluation songs "BLACK ANGEL" and "Neko (ねこ)," plus the program's theme song "新世界 (SHINSEKAI)." The release will come in multiple formats: a standard edition, two limited editions with DVDs (A and B versions), and a fan club exclusive version featuring individual member photos.

KO1KEYZ represents a shift in how K-pop groups debut, with the Japan and Korea launches happening simultaneously rather than sequentially. This positions them as a truly global act from day one, capitalizing on the international reach both PRODUCE 101 and the emerging wave of Japanese-Korean collaborative groups have been building.
