Kuwata Keisuke, the iconic frontman of Southern All Stars, has unveiled an anime music video for his original ending theme to the TV anime 'Akane Shouwa.' The track, titled 'AKANE On My Mind～Manju Kowai,' dropped on YouTube this week as part of the show's second season promotion.

The song appears on Kuwata's latest CD single "Hitotarashi" (released June 24), and the MV marks a playful collaboration between the music legend and the anime's production team. Directed by Watanabe Ayumu, who helmed the 'Akane Shouwa' anime, the video captures a lighthearted moment: Kuwata relaxing in a dressing room while watching the anime and enjoying some manju—a traditional Japanese sweet.

This isn't Kuwata's first time working with 'Akane Shouwa.' Earlier this year, the 70-year-old musician (who celebrated his birthday on February 26) wrote the opening theme song for the anime as well. That special animated footage premiered unexpectedly on his birthday, setting the stage for this latest release.

Kuwata continues to dominate Japan's music scene decades into his career. Beyond his work with Southern All Stars since 1978, he's maintained a prolific solo career with numerous hits like "Nami Nori Johnny" and "Shiroi Koi Bitotachi."
