Legal Lily is bringing their signature ethereal sound to anime with a new ending theme. The Japanese girls' three-piece band will perform "Conifer" as the ED for "Draw This or Die" (これ描いて死ね), which launches July 3 on Nippon Television. The track drops digitally on July 11.

The anime adapts a manga serialized in Gessahn that follows Ai Ansai, a high school student who discovers a passion for manga creation. It's a coming-of-age story centered on creative pursuit—a theme that clearly resonated with Legal Lily.

"We created 'Conifer' from the energy born when different people—teachers, students, those who've watched, those yet to see—come together through manga," vocalist and guitarist Honoka Takahashi explained. "Whether it's a quiet night spent focused on something, the stillness when morning arrives, or daytime moments, I hope this song can push people forward."

Bassist Umi added her perspective: "Manga captures that rush of creation—the wonderful chaos and joy of pouring yourself into something alongside others. Being part of this project, which celebrates both the joy and struggle of creative work, is an honor. I hope our ending feels like a gentle breeze wrapping around the characters' hearts."

Legal Lily formed in 2014 and solidified their current lineup in 2018 with Umi's addition. The band has built a reputation for transparent, emotionally resonant indie rock, releasing three mini-albums before their 2020 full-length debut bedtime story. They've toured nationally and performed at SXSW in Austin, establishing themselves beyond Japan's borders.

The anime will also feature an original opening theme, "Last Will," from artist Tatsuya Kitani. A preview of "Conifer" is available now on the anime's second promotional video on YouTube, giving fans a glimpse of Legal Lily's contribution to the series.
