Lil Mafuyu, a rapper from Tokyo's Adachi ward, just dropped the music video for his new single "IMINAI" on YouTube. The track hits streaming platforms May 30 as a preview of bigger things coming soon.

"IMINAI" serves as the lead single from Lil Mafuyu's upcoming second mixtape "まだまだLIL" (Still More LIL), set for release in mid-June. The song captures a deeply personal moment—Lil Mafuyu wrestling with the choice between pursuing money and chasing his passion for music. The lyrics cut straight to the tension: "If I had time for this, I'd rather make music" and "I could make money, but it means nothing for my life."

The production comes from KEWSER, who also happens to be from Adachi and is part of the collective SpiderWeb. Beyond producing, KEWSER handled mixing and mastering duties, bringing a cohesive sound to Lil Mafuyu's vulnerability.

The visual direction comes from Yuya Noda, a member of the creative team GHAM TAPE and another Adachi native. Having grown up in the same neighborhood gives the MV an authenticity that might otherwise ring hollow—the cinematography captures that shared sense of place while matching the song's urgent, restless energy.

Lil Mafuyu's back DJ and manager MANDO contributed styling for the video, completing a fully localized creative circle. When a crew understands the same streets and struggles, it shows on screen.

With "IMINAI" setting the tone, Lil Mafuyu's second mixtape is shaping up to be a more introspective project than what casual listeners might expect. This isn't just a flex—it's an artist examining his own choices at a crossroads. The June release should bring more clarity on where he's heading next.
