Little Glee Monster is back on THE FIRST TAKE. The Japanese vocal group returned to the popular one-take performance series for the first time in three years, premiering on YouTube on June 24 with a rendition of their newest track "Ichirin."

The group performed the song—released just two weeks earlier on June 10—with an arrangement that layered in piano, strings, and percussion. For the group, the track holds particular significance as their current six-member lineup. "This song is an important piece for the six of us in Little Glee Monster right now," the group shared in a statement. "We think that because we've gone through different experiences and our bond has grown since three years ago, we were able to create and deliver 'Ichirin.'"

Little Glee Monster's last FIRST TAKE appearance came roughly three years prior, when they covered Ayaka Hirahara's "Jupiter." That performance helped reconnect them with the series' audience ahead of this comeback.

Formed with the mission to "leave a mark on people's hearts through refined vocals," Little Glee Monster debuted in 2014 and has built a strong track record with placements in major Japanese media. Their songs have been used as image tracks for Coca-Cola campaigns and as theme songs for NHK's rugby coverage. The group has performed at NHK's annual Kohaku Uta Gassen four consecutive years and held residencies at Tokyo's Nippon Budokan.

The group's current lineup includes members Karan, MAYU, Mika, Asahi, Yuki, and Miyou. Mika, Yuki, and Miyou joined the group in late 2022, marking a refresh that influenced the group's musical direction heading into 2023 and beyond.

With "Ichirin," Little Glee Monster continues to lean into the vocal harmonies and emotional depth that define their sound—qualities they emphasized in their FIRST TAKE return. The group noted that performing on the platform allowed them to showcase "the charm unique to Little Glee Monster" through their voices and harmonies.
