Macaroni Pencil is moving fast with their latest anime collaboration. The four-piece rock band has created the opening theme 'Shūuyoi' for the new television anime 'World Is Dancing,' which premieres July 2 at 10 p.m. on TOKYO MX, BS Asahi, and TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting. The single hits streaming platforms the very next day on July 3.

'World Is Dancing' adapts Kazuhito Mihara's manga of the same name, transporting viewers to the Muromachi period. The story follows a young boy named Oniyasha as he grapples with a fundamental question: why do people dance? Through his journey, he gradually develops new forms of dance that would eventually become what we know today as Noh theater.

The timing of the release—dropping immediately after the premiere—suggests the band and production team wanted to capitalize on viewer momentum. The single's cover art comes from illustrator Masako Tomii.

Maraconi Pencil itself brings solid credentials to the project. The band comprises vocalist and guitarist Hattori, bassist Kenya Takano, guitarist Yoshiaki Tanabe, and keyboardist Daiki Hasegawa—all graduates of music universities. After signing to TOY'S FACTORY in 2020, they've built a steady catalog including their major debut EP 'Ai wo Shirazu ni Mahō wa Tsukaenai' and their latest full-length album 'Physical Mind,' released last December.

The band has stayed active on the touring circuit as well. They wrapped up their nationwide "Macarock Tour vol.21" between January and April 2026, hitting venues across Japan. Beyond anime work, they're also scheduled to perform at Rock in Japan Festival later this month, where acts like Vaundy, BUMP OF CHICKEN, and Ado are headlining.

For fans of anime soundtracks and Japanese rock, 'Shūuyoi' represents another chance to catch Macaroni Pencil's sound. The rapid-fire release strategy—premiering the show and dropping the song within hours—makes it easy to experience both the visuals and the music while the opening is still fresh in viewers' minds.
