Monaki Gets First Solo Special with 50-Question Deep Dive
The four-member boys group Monaki is getting their debut TV special tonight, featuring a 50-question survey that reveals members' true personalities across five themes. The show airs on TV Asahi and includes exclusive behind-the-scenes content on TELASA.

Monaki is stepping into the spotlight with their first solo television special tonight. The show, titled "Monaki 100% Pure!" airs on TV Asahi at midnight (June 20–21) and promises an unfiltered look at the group's members through a unique format.
The special uses a 50-question survey split into five themes: basic profiles, private life, personality and past, deeper insights, and the group's future. Host Nas Nakanishi guides viewers through answers that paint a picture of each member's background and character.
Monaki's lineup reads like a collection of career pivots. Oyone spent years perfecting his vocals in karaoke lounges as a salaried worker. Jin brings experience from acting and music, having worked his way up the hard way. Sakai Jr. traded his title as a first-class architect—where he designed train station buildings—for the stage. Kenken rounds out the group after a previous stint as a tokusatsu (live-action hero) performer before returning to entertainment.
The special gives these unexpected trajectories room to breathe. Oyone and Jin, both dreaming of becoming manga artists as kids, will sketch each other's caricatures on air. When discussing stress relief, Oyone shares his method of eating penne al aglio e olio enthusiastically—and demonstrates it live. Kenken faces off against the infamous "tingling chair," while Sakai Jr. takes on his first-ever food commentary segment.
Performance-wise, expect their breakout debut single "Hommayade Nande Yan'en Shiranke" ("It's True, Why Not, I Don't Know") in full, plus the B-side "Konna Mon Ja Neee" making its first performance appearance.
For those wanting more, TELASA streams five exclusive segments after broadcast, including post-recording talk, a trivia quiz, and segments about members' hidden talents, health routines, and home layouts. The group debuted in April 2026 under Victor Entertainment, following their formation through a second-chance audition organized by senior group Junretsu.
