Two Japanese acts are joining forces on the soundtrack for an upcoming drama that blends time-loop sci-fi with dark revenge thriller vibes.

Nowlu will handle the ending theme with a newly written track called "ハナセナイ," while the bercedes menz contribute their song "morning star" as the opening theme. The drama, "夫を殺したはずなのに" ("Husband, I Thought I Killed You"), launches July 6 on TV Tokyo and airs Monday nights.

Based on a vertical-scroll webtoon by Akane Akaishi distributed through LINE Manga, the story follows a wife named Rino (played by Rio Uchida) who murders her unfaithful husband Keita (Keisuke Watanabe), then finds herself caught in a time loop forced to relive the day over and over. It's the kind of premise that demands a soundtrack with tension and emotional weight.

"Morning star" comes from the bercedes menz's debut album "weapons," released in May 2026. The track balances energetic instrumentation with delicate lyrics—exactly the kind of contrast needed for a genre-bending show. Bassist Kohkitsu Tanaka commented that the band is curious to see how their music meshes with the drama's mix of "murky romance and suspense meets sci-fi time loops."

Nowlu, who broke through with the anime track "Spiral" in 2022, has steadily built momentum—their 2022 single "Stuck on You" accumulated nearly 10 million Spotify plays, particularly resonating with US audiences. Since then, they've contributed to anime and drama soundtracks, including the 2024 drama "Wingman." For this project, Nowlu wrote specifically for the show, aiming to leave viewers hanging at the end of each episode.

In their statement, Nowlu expressed excitement about stepping into new creative territory and invited audiences to "dive deep into the world of this drama" alongside them this summer.

The drama airs Monday nights at 11:06 PM on TV Tokyo, with subsequent episodes following weekly.
