Offo tokyo and This is LAST have landed theme song duties for the new TV Tokyo drama "一緒にごはんをたべるだけ" (Eating Together), set to premiere July 2. The city-pop unit handles the opening theme with "Darlin'," while the rock duo closes each episode with "Paradox."

The drama adapts a manga by Terasu Omachi and centers on a forbidden romance between Taki, a cooking instructor struggling with loneliness in her marriage, and Rei, an editor she meets through work. The story blends culinary elements with emotional complexity—the pair finds solace sharing meals while navigating their messy situation. Early sight stars Akari Hayami as Taki and Kenta Ito as Rei.

Offo tokyo, formed in 2021 after years as a larger creative collective, blends city pop with soul, rock, and R&B. The group signed to Imperial Records in 2025 and recently released a 24-track album. In a statement, the unit said they aimed to "gently accompany the characters' wavering emotions and become a presence that colors the work," reflecting the drama's exploration of conflicting feelings and unspoken tension.

This is LAST, the Chiba-based rock band behind the project, debuted "Paradox" as a custom composition. Vocalist and guitarist Yosuke Kikuchi explained the song captures the internal contradiction of knowing something is wrong while still being unable to resist—mirroring the drama's central conflict. "This piece hopes to stand beside anyone living through the paradox of reality and true feelings," he noted. The band has built momentum through festival appearances and sold-out venue tours, including a full-capacity run at Zepp locations last year.

Offo tokyo's opening theme "Darlin'" drops during the premiere broadcast, while This is LAST's "Paradox" is already available via TVer's official trailer. The series airs Thursday nights at midnight on TV Tokyo, with BS TV Tokyo following on Tuesdays.
