Okamura Yasuyuki and Kento Nakajima are joining THE FIRST TAKE for its 673rd episode, premiering on YouTube on June 3rd at 10 PM. The two will perform "Shunpatsu-teki ni Koi Shiyou" (roughly "Let's Fall in Love Instantaneously"), the opening theme for the anime "Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!!"

This marks the first time the veteran singer-songwriter and the actor-turned-solo-artist have collaborated in a public performance. The track blends pop sensibilities with nostalgic charm—perfect for THE FIRST TAKE's signature one-shot format, where there are no second takes and mistakes stay in the final cut.

Okamura, born in 1965, has been a fixture in Japanese music since the 1980s, known for his genre-blending approach that touches everything from black music to rock and enka. He's collaborated with artists ranging from Cornelius to DAOKO over his decades-long career. Nakajima, 30, recently shifted to solo work after graduating from the idol group Sexy Zone in March 2024. Beyond music, he's built a parallel career as an actor and has expanded into international projects, including work with WOWOW's Oscar coverage.

In his comments, Okamura acknowledged the pressure of the one-take format, admitting he initially thought he could power through without mistakes—but quickly realized that wasn't possible. "I'm glad it turned out well under that tension," he said, "and I think that tension comes through in the footage, so I'd like people to see it."

Nakajima expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, saying he immediately fell for the song upon first hearing it and hopes viewers will experience the same instant connection. "I hope everyone will fall in love with this beautiful one-take world on THE FIRST TAKE," he added.

The pair previously released an official music video for the track in April, featuring animated characters performing choreography by renowned dancer MIKIKO. A CD release for the collaboration is also scheduled.
