Original Love unveiled the music video for "Ai wa Akari" (Love is Light), marking the Japanese band's 35th anniversary since their 1991 major label debut.

The track dropped on June 14 and carries a message of hope and togetherness. Described as a "hymn to life," the song weaves together themes of happiness, peace, and reflections on love—meant to shine a light for listeners. It continues the musical direction established across their recent albums "bless You!" (2019) and "MUSIC, DANCE & LOVE" (2022).

What makes this release special is the collaboration with Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra. Horn section members NARGO, GAMO, and Atsushi Taninaka contributed to the recording, and all three appear in the newly released video. The MV itself is built around vocal performances with an ensemble cast, and features a childhood photo of frontman Takao Tajima that also graces the single's jacket artwork.

Original Love's reach extends beyond Japan these days. Earlier this year, they partnered with Korean alternative band CADEJO on a collaborative EP called "From a South Island," showing the band's openness to cross-cultural creative projects.

With nearly four decades of consistent output, Original Love continues to balance studio recordings with live performances—both full-band shows and Tajima's solo "Soul Tour" acoustic sets. Coming up this November, they're scheduled to perform at Tokyo's Nippon Budokan for the first time in their career, with a show titled "SOUL POWER BUDOKAN ~Then and Now~ Dancin'- The 35th Anniversary Live" on November 23.
