RUNG HYANG released the EP "Legassic" today, marking a new chapter that bridges past influences with future direction. The project's title merges "Legacy" and "Classic," reflecting the artist's intention to honor both personal history and what lies ahead.

The six-track EP pulls from various sources of inspiration. Two tracks, "Seeds of life" and "Lull you," came from a collaboration between Takashimaya and SALON adam et rope'. The title track "Legassic" showcases a funk-driven flow, while "memento" was written as a tribute to RUNG HYANG's grandfather, who passed away this year. Rounding out the project are "Let's beat it" and "tiny shine."

Musically, the EP anchors itself in R&B and soul while expanding into cinematic territory—giving the work a broader, more ambitious scope. A music video for "Lull you" premiered on YouTube, created by longtime collaborator ENDSOUL.

Looking ahead, RUNG HYANG will bring "Legassic" to life through a special two-stage performance on June 19 at BLUE NOTE PLACE in Tokyo. The first stage, "Asia monsoon," features guest Kawaminoki Hiroki (Sohegum) and opens at 6:00 PM. The second stage, "This is Tokyo!," welcomes TOKYO CRITTERS members ZIN and Sugawara Shinsuke, with doors opening at 8:15 PM.

Both shows will include backing from RUNG HYANG's band: Kobayashi Takegoro (keys), Sunayama Junichi (bass), and Shirane Yoshihisa (drums). Attendees are encouraged to follow a "tiny shine" dress code.

The release continues RUNG HYANG's creative momentum, following the artist's major 2025 album "MOMENT" and recent collaboration track "Skyfy." With "Legassic," RUNG HYANG demonstrates a commitment to evolving artistically while maintaining the soul-centered foundation fans have come to expect.
