Sawao Yamanaka & ELPIS have canceled today's Hiroshima show as part of their "Daydream again tour" due to laryngitis affecting the vocalist's ability to perform.

The cancellation was announced via Yamanaka's official X account, which explained that he's experiencing voice difficulties from the condition and that performing a full concert wouldn't be feasible. However, the announcement included an unusual offer: at Yamanaka's request, the band will perform several songs without vocals at the originally scheduled start time for anyone who wants to attend.

Attendees won't face any financial penalty—ticket refunds and rescheduling details will be announced on the official website once finalized. The same goes for information about the June 2 Hong Kong DIME performance, which is still in question.

The tour continues with dates across Japan through late June, including stops in Shizuoka, Gunma, Hokkaido, Aomori, Miyagi, Aichi, Osaka, and Tokyo.

Yamanaka is best known as the vocalist and guitarist for the influential rock band the Pillows, which he co-founded in 1989. Beyond that project, he's also active with THE PREDATORS (featuring GLAY's JIRO and ELLEGARDEN's Hiroki Takahashi) and Casablanca (with members from noodles and Radio Caroline). He also runs DELICIOUS LABEL, an independent music label that has released work from various artists.

The Daydream again tour marks another chapter in Yamanaka's ongoing performance schedule, though this cancellation underscores the physical demands touring places on musicians. Health issues like laryngitis can be particularly challenging for vocalists, making it a responsible call to cancel rather than risk further vocal damage.
