SCANDAL is marking the release of their 12th album "ECHO" with a free live concert at Shinjuku Cinecity Plaza in Tokyo today, May 27, starting at 7 p.m. JST. The performance will stream simultaneously on YouTube, making it accessible to international fans unable to attend in person.

The four-piece band—HARUNA (vocals, guitar), MAMI (guitar, vocals), TOMOMI (bass, vocals), and RINA (drums, vocals)—is offering more than just a standard livestream. Attendees at the physical venue can film the performance and participate in a meet-and-greet where all band members will do high-fives. Fans who purchase "ECHO" at the on-site CD booth can also join the meet-and-greet.

SCAN DAL formed in Osaka in 2006 and achieved major success with their single "少女S" (Shoujo S), which earned them the Japan Record Award for Best New Artist in 2009. The band has maintained impressive longevity—in 2023, they set a Guinness World Record for the longest-running all-female rock band. Their independent label "her," founded in 2018, has given them creative control over recent projects.

With their 20th anniversary approaching in August, the band will celebrate with "SCANDAL 20th Anniversary Live 'Chapter 20'" at Osaka Castle Hall on August 21—their first hometown one-man show in five years. "ECHO" arrives as part of this milestone year, featuring collaborations with six different creators and blending familiar and fresh sounds across nine tracks.
