Nakamura Hak, a newly debuted singer-songwriter from Tokyo, held her inaugural live performance on May 29 at TOKYO NODE HALL in Tokyo's Toranomon Hills. The show was a "plugless" affair—no microphone, no amplification, just voice and acoustic guitar—streamed live on YouTube for viewers unable to attend in person.

The 22-year-old artist has already made waves despite her recent spring 2026 debut. She's provided opening and ending themes for two major TV projects: the opening theme for the drama "Lunashii" and three ending themes for the anime "Atelier of Witch Hat." Her non-tied-in track "White is a Dream" has been getting heavy rotation across Japanese radio stations, turning heads with its raw production—every song is recorded with zero editing or correction, capturing unfiltered vocals and breath sounds.

At the TOKYO NODE HALL performance, held 46 stories above ground with panoramic views of Tokyo's night skyline, Nakamura Hak performed a six-song set that showcased her emotional range. Wearing a deep hood that obscured her face, she opened with "Seventeen," the opening track from her debut EP White is a Dream. She moved through material from both her EP and her anime/drama work, including the stirring "Just a Beautiful Curse" from Atelier of Witch Hat and "Good and Evil" from Lunashii, where she deployed sharp cutting rhythms and raw vocal intensity.

Her debut EP White is a Dream released on CD only on May 20, with most tracks unavailable on streaming platforms. A single titled Just a Beautiful Curse, collecting the three Atelier of Witch Hat ending themes, arrives June 10 on CD.

Fans who purchase the EP get free entry to her nine-city national tour "Plugless (Out-store) Live Tour 'Heretic,'" running September 2026 through January 2027.
