Japanese idol members are keeping busy on the small screen this weekend with appearances on two major TV programs.

SixTONES member Morimoto Shintaro will appear on "Zan! Tekken! DASH!!" airing May 17 at 7 PM on Nippon Television. He joins fellow guests Shoji Shigeru and Fujiwara Joichiro (Naniwa Danshi) for a special rice farming project in Fukushima Prefecture. The episode marks the 26th year of the show's "DASH My (Rice) Dream" initiative, which aims to deliver rice to viewers.

The three guests will tackle an ambitious plan: building a trailer house from scratch to support the farming operation. According to the program description, each member will pitch their own design ideas for the mobile dwelling. The episode also features Morimoto and Fujiwara working on their assigned rice paddies, where creative differences emerge over soil preparation methods. Shoji, aiming for top-grade rice, plans to use special fertilizer and reconnects with a trusted farming ally in Fukushima. The broadcast promises emotional moments as both Fujiwara and Morimoto reflect on themes of family bonds and the value of life.

Meanwhile, Snow Man's Sakuma Daisuke will co-host "Saku Saku Himu Himu ☆Oshi no Furu Yoru☆" on Nippon Television tonight, May 16, at 11:30 PM. The program, which he regularly hosts alongside Banana Man's Hiyamaru Hiyoji, is dedicating this episode to udon noodles. Sakuma apparently expressed surprise at the thickness of the noodles used, commenting that they're about as wide as a finger.

Both appearances continue the trend of Japanese idols engaging with variety show programming, blending entertainment with hands-on experiences in agriculture and food culture.
