Snow Man's Sakuma Daisuke is getting a masterclass in curry appreciation. The MC appeared on the variety show "Sakusaku Himuhimu ☆Oshi no Furu Yoru☆" (which aired May 30 on Nippon Television) alongside Naniwa Danshi member Nishihata Daigo and comedian Yamaze Hiroshi from Aiseki Start to explore the appeal of CoCo Ichibanya, Japan's beloved curry restaurant chain.

Sakuma admitted he's already a regular at CoCo Ichibanya, recalling how the chain's unique toppings—particularly natto—drew him in during his university days. "There really weren't other curry places with natto back then," he explained, noting he and friends visited frequently.

Nishihata took the host role as "Oshitsuji-san," a character guide to CoCo Ichibanya's offerings. He's a devoted fan himself, sometimes visiting five or six days a week during peak periods. Nishihata walked Sakuma through his signature order: a crispy chicken curry topped with spinach, extra sauce, and set to "2-spice" heat level. The twist comes from drizzling the table's sweet sauce over the spicy curry—what he calls his "Nishihata Special."

When Sakuma questioned why add sweetness if you ordered mild spice, Nishihata fired back with exasperation: "You don't get it." He explained the sweet sauce doesn't cancel the heat; it layers flavors on top. "CoCo Ichibanya is all about addition," he said with pride.

The episode featured both hosts attempting to predict the three most popular toppings from CoCo Ichibanya's 35-option menu. Sakuma later tested Nishihata's sweet sauce recommendation for himself, initially skeptical but willing to try.

The show aired Saturday night at 11:30 p.m., with extended footage and behind-the-scenes scenes released afterward on TVer for free streaming. For fans wanting to catch more of Sakuma and Nishihata's dynamic, the unaired material offers extra laughs beyond the broadcast version.
