SPEED Launches TikTok Account Ahead of 30th Anniversary
The legendary J-pop group SPEED has opened an official TikTok account to celebrate their 30th debut anniversary in August 2026. The account will feature music videos, live footage, and a fan engagement campaign across streaming platforms.

SPEED, the pioneering four-member dance and vocal unit that defined late-90s J-pop, just launched an official TikTok account as part of their 30th anniversary celebration.
The group—made up of Hiroko Shimabukuro, Eriko Imai, Takako Uehara, and Hitoe Aragaki—debuted on August 5, 1996, with "Body & Soul," when all members were still in elementary or middle school. Their rapid rise included a million-selling second single "STEADY" just months later, followed by massive hits like "Go! Go! Heaven" and "White Love."
SPEED's new TikTok presence will showcase a mix of original music videos and live performances from across their catalog. The timing marks the beginning of their official anniversary campaign, which culminates on August 5, 2026.
To engage fans during this milestone year, SPEED is also running a "SPEED Song Share Campaign" across major streaming services. Fans can play SPEED tracks on Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, or YouTube Music and share them on social media using the hashtag #SPEED_30th. After submitting a screenshot of their completed post through an official form, participants receive an exclusive digital image as a reward.
The group originally disbanded in 2000 but has reunited several times over the years. Their legacy includes not just music but also acting—all four members appeared in the 1998 film "Andromedia," whose theme song "ALIVE" won the Japan Record Award's Best Work prize. In 2021, for their 25th anniversary, they released "SPEED MUSIC BOX -ALL THE MEMORIES-," a comprehensive box set featuring original versions of their entire catalog.
While SPEED has remained largely out of the spotlight compared to modern K-pop and J-pop groups, their influence on the girl group formula is undeniable. This TikTok launch signals they're ready to reach a new generation of fans while honoring three decades of music history. More details on the anniversary campaign are available through SPEED's official social media accounts.
