Suga Shikao Announces Special 30th Anniversary Concert in Yokohama

Singer-songwriter Suga Shikao will celebrate three decades in music with a special concert featuring his backing band The Family Sugar. The show, titled "YOKOHAMA UNITE Music Festival 2026 presents Suga Shikao 30th ANNIVERSARY Shikao & The Family Sugar ONE NIGHT LIVE!", is set for July 25, 2026 at Yokohama BUNTAI in Kanagawa Prefecture.

Suga Shikao, known for his distinctive voice and thoughtful songwriting, has been a consistent presence in Japanese music since the mid-1990s. His hits include "Yozakura" and "19," and he's maintained a loyal following through his introspective lyrics and folk-rock sound. The Family Sugar serves as his regular touring band, creating the full-band arrangements that bring his songs to life on stage.

The concert promises to be a career-spanning celebration, with Suga Shikao himself noting that "everything will be a special day." The Yokohama BUNTAI venue, which opened in 2020, provides an intimate setting for what's sure to be a memorable evening for longtime fans.

This anniversary show represents a significant milestone for an artist who has quietly built one of Japan's most enduring solo careers, blending folk sensibilities with rock arrangements across three decades of recording and performing.
