Two prominent Japanese rock bands are joining forces for a special concert. Sunny Day Service and Triple Fire will share the stage at LIQUIDROOM in Tokyo on August 27, marking part of the venue's 22nd anniversary festivities following its relocation to Ebisu.

Sunny Day Service brings decades of experience to the lineup. The three-piece formed in 1994 with vocalist and guitarist Soga Bekeichi, bassist Tanaka Takashi, and drummer Daikohara Mikio. They built a loyal following through their folk-influenced rock sound and literary aesthetic, releasing seven albums before disbanding in 2000. The band reunited in 2008 and has remained active since, putting out six original albums through 2020. They've also ventured into remix projects and theme songs, including a track for a major Japanese TV travel program in 2022.

Triple Fire rounds out the bill with a more recent pedigree. Formed in 2006 within Waseda University's music circle, the four-piece solidified its current lineup in 2010 with the addition of guitarist Torii Masamichi. Vocalist Yoshida Yasunao, bassist Yamamoto Yoshiyuki, and drummer Oogaki Sho complete the group. The band marked its return to recording last year with "EXTRA," their first album in seven years.

The pairing offers an interesting contrast—a veteran act with a cult following meeting a younger band building momentum. LIQUIDROOM's anniversary series positions the show as a significant event for both acts' fanbases.
