SUPER BEAVER will represent Japanese rock at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with Fuji Television tapping the Tokyo-based band to create the official theme song for their World Cup coverage.

The new track, "Climax," premieres on Japanese television today with a teaser clip airing during "SUNDAY Break" at 7 p.m., followed by the full reveal on the sports program "Supôruto!" at 11:45 p.m. The song arrives on the band's new album Ningen (Human), dropping June 24, with an early digital release set for May 27.

Band frontman Shibuya Ryuta expressed his gratitude in a statement, saying the opportunity felt like a dream come true. "To be entrusted with the 2026 World Cup theme song for Fuji Television is the highest honor a bandman could ask for," he said. "We poured all our hearts into this track, hoping it becomes a strong tailwind for the athletes taking on the biggest stage of their lives."

This isn't SUPER BEAVER's first brush with major Japanese sporting events. The band previously created "Ikigai" (Life Purpose), an athlete support anthem for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympics, also broadcast on Fuji Television.

SUPER BEAVER formed in Tokyo in 2005 and has built a reputation for high-energy live performances and providing music for major film and sports projects. The four-piece—featuring Shibuya on vocals, Yanagisawa Ryota on guitar, Uesugi Kenta on bass, and Fujiwara "37 years old" Hiroaki on drums—signed with Sony Music Records in 2020 after years operating independently. Recent highlights include theme songs for the Tokyo Revengers film franchise and a career-high outdoor live performance at Fuji-Q Highland in summer 2023.

With the 2026 World Cup kicking off June 11, "Climax" will soundtrack what promises to be an exciting tournament for Japanese fans.
