Superfly's Shiho Ochi shared pregnancy news on Instagram today, revealing she's expecting her second child with an autumn delivery date planned.

Ochi announced the pregnancy with a heartfelt message to fans: "It's been a while. I'm happy to report that I'm expecting our second child. The birth is expected around fall." She reflected on the experience, noting that despite having gone through pregnancy before, each moment brings its own surprises and significance.

The artist confirmed she'll step back from performing during this period but expressed enthusiasm about returning to the stage. "While I won't be performing live for a while, I'm looking forward to meeting you all again with a smile," she wrote.

Ochi welcomed her first child in May 2022 with her husband, Daisuke Kanazawa, bassist for the Japanese rock band Fujifabric. The couple married in 2018.

As Superfly, Ochi has built an impressive career since debuting in 2007 with the single "Hello, Hello." Her breakthrough came the following year with the album "Superfly," which topped Japan's Oricon weekly album chart and began a streak of six consecutive number-one albums. Beyond her solo work, she's known for powerful vocal performances and has released multiple studio albums, most recently sharing cover songs from her 2024 tour.

This pregnancy announcement comes as Ochi continues to maintain an active presence in music despite recent health challenges. Last year, throat issues forced her to cancel a planned national arena tour, which she later rescheduled for early 2024. Her most recent single "Charade" dropped in August 2024.
