SUPERKNOVA has kicked off June with two major announcements: welcoming their newest member and releasing a vibrant new single that pushes the band's sonic boundaries.

On May 25, the Japanese visual kei group revealed drummer Usanagi Mel (宇佐木める) as their latest addition. That same day, they premiered the music video for "Nihao Dopamine" (你好ど〜ぱみん☆), which dropped as a single on June 3 across streaming platforms.

The track itself is a kaleidoscope of influences. What begins as a traditional visual kei aesthetic quickly splinters into multiple genre shifts—Vocaloid-style synths, modern production mixed with traditional Asian instruments, upbeat J-pop choruses, brief rap sections, and metal guitar breaks all compete for attention within three minutes. Guitarist Goku Kinaco.exe even appears shredding during a rhythm game sequence.

Usanagi Mel's drumming proves crucial to the track's success, adapting fluidly as the song careens between styles. The physical release includes both the main track and a karaoke version.

The music video amplifies this Japan-China fusion concept visually. Gold and red dominate the opening scenes as the band performs surrounded by Chinese cultural imagery, creating an otherworldly atmosphere. The color palette and choreography reflect careful attention to blending the two artistic traditions, with vocalist Kouki and guitarists navigating a space where both aesthetics coexist rather than compete.
