SUPERKNOVA Welcomes New Drummer, Drops Japan-China Fusion Single
Visual kei band SUPERKNOVA introduced drummer Usanagi Mel and released "Nihao Dopamine," a genre-blending single that merges Japanese and Chinese musical aesthetics through vibrant visuals and eclectic instrumentation.

SUPERKNOVA marked May 25 with two major announcements: the addition of drummer Usanagi Mel to the band's lineup and the premiere of their latest music video for "Nihao Dopamine" (你好ど〜ぱみん☆), which dropped as a single on June 3.
The track name hints at its cross-cultural DNA, and the accompanying video fully embraces a Japan-China artistic fusion. Opening with elegant gold and red visuals, the band performs surrounded by Chinese cultural imagery, creating a distinctly otherworldly aesthetic. What begins as a visual kei showcase quickly transforms through multiple musical and visual shifts, keeping viewers on their toes.
Musically, "Nihao Dopamine" is a genre-hopping adventure despite its short runtime.
