SWEET STEADY is bringing their signature style to anime with a new opening theme. The idol group released "Kimiga Warui nda kara ne" (気味が悪いんだからねっ) on July 5 as the opening for TBS's TV anime "Let's Go Kaiki-gumi," which airs Sunday evenings starting that same date.

The track marks a partnership between SWEET STEADY and Echoes, Sony Music's management and label home to YOASOBI and other artists. True to the anime's quirky tone, the song embraces a "creepy-cute" (kowakawayi) concept—pairing unsettling soundscapes with the group's bright, pop-forward charm. The single artwork features members with eerie expressions surrounded by ghostly flames in their individual colors, fitting the supernatural theme.

"We wanted to capture both the cuteness and scariness at the heart of the show," SWEET STEADY shared in a statement. "The lyrics dive deep into the anime's world, so we hope fans listen closely. And don't worry if you're not into scary stuff—there's plenty of humor mixed in."

SWEET STEADY, known by fans as "suisute," debuted in March 2024 under Asobi System's KAWAII LAB. idol project. The group's name reflects a wish for members to grow "steadily" through diverse experiences while embodying cuteness. Producer Misa Kimura, formerly of Musubizumu and current creative director at KAWAII LAB., oversees the group's direction.

This isn't the group's first anime venture—they've built momentum with recent projects including a "THE FIRST TAKE" appearance and a dramatic ballad release that sparked social media buzz. A CD version of "Kimiga Warui nda kara ne" drops August 12.

"Let's Go Kaiki-gumi" airs Sundays at 4:30 PM on TBS, with new episodes following weekly. The anime balances horror with comedy, making it accessible even to viewers wary of scary content.
