Toshl Ventures Into Vocaloid Territory With New Collaboration
Toshl teams up with vocaloid producer satapanP for his first collaboration in the genre, releasing 'Bucchikamase' on May 20. The track marks a bold creative step for the veteran artist.

Toshl is stepping into unfamiliar territory with his first vocaloid collaboration. The track, titled "Bucchikamase," drops May 20 and marks a creative pivot for the longtime solo artist.
Produced and written by vocaloid producer satapanP, the song represents Toshl's most experimental work to date. In his comments about the project, Toshl described his mindset going in: "What kind of chemical reaction would be born if I entered the vocaloid world?" He framed the collaboration as a personal challenge under his "IM A SINGER" project, venturing into new musical territory.
SatapanP crafted "Bucchikamase" to showcase Toshl's distinctive vocal presence through a dynamic soundscape that shifts between intensity and emotional depth. The producer noted he aimed for listeners to feel residual energy after hearing the track, carefully directing vocal nuances during recording sessions.
The accompanying music video premieres on YouTube May 20, with animation handled by filmmaker Uchida Kiyoki and Guni of PicassoTrigger.
Beyond this single, Toshl has momentum building throughout 2026. He recently performed "Ai wo Torimodoset!!" as the ending theme for the new "Fist of the North Star" anime adaptation, and his upcoming album "IM A SINGER VOL.4" launches July 1. That project heavily features anime song covers—including tracks from "Sailor Moon," "Attack on Titan," and "Puella Magi Madoka Magica"—alongside two original compositions.
The vocaloid venture fits Toshl's broader strategy of expanding beyond his established solo career. Known for his vocal covers and anime theme work, the artist continues testing new creative boundaries while maintaining the presence that's made him a fixture in Japan's music landscape for decades.
