Utada Hikaru's collaboration with Kohomoto Hiroto is getting its music video premiere tonight (June 24) at midnight. The track, "Pappapradise feat. Kohomoto Hiroto," pairs the legendary J-pop artist with the musician for an uplifting, feel-good number that's already found its way into two major placements: it serves as the ending theme for the anime "Chibi Maruko-chan" and appears in Coca-Cola's "Ayama" tea commercial campaign.

The collab version hits streaming and vinyl formats on June 24 as part of the "Pappapradise" 7-inch analog release and digital EP. From what's been teased so far, the MV features a distinctive visual concept—Kohomoto rides a motorcycle with Utada as his passenger, a dynamic that's already been hinted at in promotional images.

Utada needs little introduction to music fans. The New York-born artist debuted in 1998 with "Automatic/time will tell" and immediately struck gold with a million-seller. Her 1999 debut album "First Love" became Japan's best-selling album of all time with 7.65 million copies sold, a record that still stands today. She's maintained that momentum throughout her career, releasing multiple platinum albums and even attempting a full US major label push in 2004 under the name UTADA.

This collaboration also marks part of a broader promotional push—Utada and Kohomoto recorded a special interview that'll be included in a free ZINE distribution, and Tower Records has been giving the track major in-store promotion with special booklets and DJ events.

For fans of Utada's catalog, "Pappapradise" represents her lighter, more playful side, and the addition of Kohomoto's energy should make this collab version worth checking out when the video premieres tonight.
