Kyoto-based alt-pop rock band Viewtrade premiered the music video for "Sweet Song" on June 5th, marking another creative milestone for the rising Z-generation group. The video dropped on YouTube at 9 p.m. JST and showcases the band's signature blend of literary lyrics and melancholic melodies.

Director Tatsuya Matsumura, a longtime Viewtrade fan and acclaimed filmmaker who's been honored in the "100 Video Artists AWARDS" two years running, led the project. Matsumura hand-illustrated cats for the video and created original artwork that forms the visual foundation for the piece. The MV transitions from static imagery into dynamic sequences that represent the passage of time, mirroring how "Sweet Song" evolves from a catchy pop intro into intense band arrangements.

The creative collaboration extends beyond the screen—Matsumura's original artwork was transformed into a ZINE and exhibited at "Here is ZINE Tokyo #22" in February, blurring the lines between video and print media.

"Sweet Song" originally appeared on Viewtrade's debut album "RE POP!!" from August 2025, but the new video gives the track fresh momentum as the band moves forward.

Viewtrade—made up of vocalist and guitarist Rin Ikeda, guitarist Sora Sasaki, drummer Bunnya, and bassist Panda—emerged from the live house circuit in 2025 and has been building steady momentum ever since. The group's literary approach to songwriting and atmospheric melodies have earned them a dedicated following.

Looking ahead, the band releases their new EP "Pixel Feels" on July 1st. The five-track project includes "Tarot Plot," "Yes? No? Labyrinth," "Kotonoha Gamata," "Andromeda Over Galaxy," and "Impermanence and You and Me."

To support the release, Viewtrade kicks off their "Pixel Impact Tour" in July, hitting six cities across Japan through August. The tour stops in Kyoto, Yokohama, Takamatsu, Nagoya, Tokyo, and Osaka, with various local artists joining different dates. Tower Records is offering a limited edition EP bundle with a towel.
