Vocaloid Producer seiza Holds First Solo Concert After Major Label Debut
Singer-songwriter and Vocaloid producer seiza held their first solo concert with a live audience on February 27 at Tokyo's Aoyama Tsukimiru Kimi Omou venue. The show, titled "seiza 1st ONE MAN LIVE -Opportunity-", completely sold out.
seiza began their career as a Vocaloid producer (VocaloP) in January 2022, creating songs using voice synthesis software. After building a following in the Vocaloid community, they achieved a major milestone by signing with a major record label in October 2024.
The concert marked a significant moment for the artist, coming nearly four years after they first started creating music. During the performance, seiza became emotional while expressing gratitude to their fans, saying through tears: "It's thanks to you that I can feel like it was worth continuing."
For international fans unfamiliar with the term, a "VocaloP" (Vocaloid producer) creates original songs using vocal synthesis technology, often featuring virtual singers like Hatsune Miku. Many successful J-Pop artists, including Kenshi Yonezu and YOASOBI's Ayase, started as Vocaloid producers before transitioning to mainstream music careers.
The venue was filled with enthusiastic fans from early in the evening, creating an electric atmosphere for what represented both a personal triumph and career milestone for seiza. The concert's title "Opportunity" seems fitting for an artist who has successfully bridged the gap between the underground Vocaloid scene and major label success.
