Yahyel member and musician Shinoda Miru (Sampling) passed away on April 14, 2026. The 34-year-old producer and artist had been an integral part of the electronic music collective since 2015.

Yahyel has announced the passing of member Shinoda Miru (known as Sampling), who died on April 14, 2026. The news was shared through the group's official social media channels. A private funeral was held with only close family members in attendance, as both band members and staff were still processing the loss.
Shinoda, born in 1992, had been a key figure in Yahyel since joining the collective in 2015. Beyond his work with the group, he maintained an active presence across multiple creative disciplines. His production credits included collaborations with artists like Matsunaga Takuma, ACE COOL, and Rinsagaacross numerous tracks. He also composed music for fashion brand lookbooks, films, theater productions, and created sound installations and performance pieces.
In 2024, Shinoda co-founded the label and platform ecp alongside Matsunaga Takuma. He remained committed to activism through music and sound, participating in various protest events and artistic interventions. This included appearances at activist music gatherings where electronic music and political messaging intersected.
Shinoda's health had been deteriorating for some time. A Yahyel tour scheduled for March 2026 was cancelled due to his illness, signaling challenges he had been facing. Despite this, he released a solo debut EP titled "Pressure Field" just months before his passing in October 2025, demonstrating his continued creative output even while unwell.
His contributions to electronic music extended beyond traditional releases—he was recognized for blending artistic expression with social consciousness, making him a notable figure in Japan's experimental and activist music communities. The loss marks a significant moment for Yahyel and the wider network of collaborators he worked with throughout his career.
