YONA YONA WEEKENDERS dropped the music video for 'Papa' on Father's Day (June 21), and it's part documentary, part comedy sketch. The track marks the band's most personal release to date, with vocalist Isono drawing directly from his own life experiences for the lyrics.

What makes the video special is how the band approached the recording itself. While YONA YONA WEEKENDERS typically records with members working separately, they decided to bring everyone together for this one—including their support members—because Isono wanted that collective energy captured in the final mix.

But here's where the "half-documentary" part comes in. The video starts as a straightforward behind-the-scenes look at the recording sessions, then takes an unexpected turn when Isono shows up significantly late to his vocal session. From there, things get delightfully chaotic. Director Honma Isamu, who's previously handled the band's comedic videos like "Last Train Home" and "Midnight Blue," steers the narrative in some creative directions.

Tour Dates Announced

The band is marking their 10th anniversary year and the release of their new EP Omoide no Yokan with a seven-show tour running from October through November 2026. The dates kick off October 9 at darwin in Miyagi and wrap November 21 at Shibuya CLUB QUATTRO in Tokyo, hitting major cities including Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Sapporo, Nagoya, and Osaka along the way.

First-priority ticket sales through Eplus run through July 5, so if you're planning to catch them on the road, now's the time to lock in your spot. The tour promises to be a proper celebration of a decade-plus of the band's distinct brand of indie pop-rock energy.
