Former SECRET NUMBER member Denise recently shared a candid story about an embarrassing moment that happened during a music show taping, shedding light on the realities idols face when performing during their menstrual cycle.

While recounting the incident on camera, Denise explained that the group had just finished their performance and had some downtime before the winner announcement. Exhausted, she fell asleep on a couch in the waiting area—wearing a white skirt that day while on her period.

When she woke up about an hour later to get her hair and makeup touched up before heading back on stage, her stylist gasped as she walked past. "She just hugged me from behind," Denise recalled, "and then she was like, 'Denise, let's go to the bathroom.'" When Denise looked in the mirror, she realized she'd bled through the skirt.

"There's just this fat red dot," Denise said, describing the stain. "It was pretty bad."

Rather than scramble to find a replacement outfit, the head stylist took charge of the situation. "She was basically like a commander," Denise laughed. "She's like, 'Cold water, soap, someone grab a hair dryer, let's go, chop-chop!' Skirt's off, they're scrubbing, they're doing all that."

The styling team successfully cleaned and dried the skirt on the spot, and Denise made it back on stage in time. While everything worked out, Denise acknowledged that the situation was more stressful than it needed to be—a result of exhaustion and the high-pressure environment of music show tapings.

The story highlights a behind-the-scenes reality for many female idols: they often perform regardless of their menstrual cycle, and styling choices don't always account for practical concerns. Denise's willingness to share the experience openly contributes to a growing conversation about normalizing these conversations in the K-pop industry.
