DJ DOC member Lee Haneul found himself in an awkward situation on May 16 when police showed up at his gopchang restaurant during a YouTube livestream, sparking frustration with both the situation and his viewers.

While DJing and broadcasting from his restaurant on his channel Catch King Lee Haneul, some livestream viewers raised concerns about potential noise violations in what appears to be a residential area. Lee Haneul believes certain viewers reported him to authorities, leading to the police visit.

During the livestream, Lee Haneul addressed the incident directly with his audience, defending his actions. "People are reporting us again," he explained. "Whenever I do YouTube livestreams, they report us. We're not exceeding the decibel limit, and we're playing it inside the store."

He went on to express frustration about the impact of these reports, saying the situation wastes police time and resources. "Calling busy public officials out here and bothering them is causing trouble," he stated. Lee Haneul attributed the complaints to malicious viewers attempting to interfere with his business, noting that the speaker's proximity to the camera made the volume sound louder than it actually was.

The responding officers declined to be filmed and briefly appeared on camera before the situation de-escalated. Police did not issue a citation and left the premises relatively quickly.

This isn't Lee Haneul's first encounter with noise-related complaints at his restaurant. In February, he hosted a fan meeting for actress Kim Gyuri that involved music playback, which also triggered reports. Misinformation subsequently spread online claiming the restaurant received a two-month business suspension—a claim Lee Haneul disputed as inaccurate. He stated that false reports and rumors from that incident negatively affected his business.

The May 16 incident reflects ongoing tensions between content creators operating businesses and nearby residents, particularly regarding livestream activities in mixed-use or residential areas. Lee Haneul's frustration seems rooted in what he perceives as repeated, potentially coordinated reporting from viewers rather than legitimate noise violations.
