KBS2's upcoming drama "Love on the Menu" offers a closer look at its central conflict through a newly released teaser.

The series follows Kim Moo Jin, a polished owner-chef of an Italian restaurant played by Ha Seok Jin, and Han Gyu Rim, a side-dish shop worker portrayed by Hani. The two are former lovers reconnecting eight years after a breakup, tasked with rebuilding not just their relationship but also their fractured families.

The teaser reveals the weight of Han Gyu Rim's sacrifices. Her younger brother Han Gyu Oh confronts another sibling, noting that Gyu Rim abandoned her college plans so her sister could attend medical school—a gift met with indifference. The family dynamics deepen as hints emerge about Han Gyu Oh's troubled past, including a scene at a police station from his high school years, and his father's questionable financial dealings.

Family members have competing loyalties and resentments. One sibling expresses a desire for the chairman to replace their father, while another judges their troublemaking parent with suspicion. When their father warns Han Gyu Rim against the wrong romantic choice, she defends Kim Moo Jin, insisting he's different. Yet the teaser suggests that misunderstandings will strain even this trust.

Pushed to her limit, Han Gyu Rim eventually declares, "I can't listen to your unreasonableness anymore. Don't meddle in other people's lives," signaling the emotional turbulence ahead.

The drama explores how two people wounded by a shared past navigate rekindling their connection while wrestling with the demands and disappointments of their families. The warmth promised in the title—"the warmest table of life"—will have to be earned through conflict and understanding.
