On July 20, the singer shared a letter with fans via Berriz addressing her situation. She revealed that her chronic Patulous Eustachian tube dysfunction—a condition affecting the ear—has been causing increasingly persistent symptoms that make it difficult for her to perform at her best. "My ear symptoms have always been erratic, fluctuating between good and bad, but recently, they have persisted day and night for days at a time, and I have repeatedly found it difficult to regain my form while singing," IU explained.

The canceled concert was originally set to take place at Goyang Stadium as part of a larger domestic tour. IU's sixth studio album, which she has already completed, will also be delayed by a few months since its planned promotion was built around the concert and tour schedule.

Despite the setback, IU expressed gratitude and determination in her message to fans. "I'm truly sorry, and I love you so much," she wrote, while promising a "diverse new album" and signaling her intention to reconnect with fans when 2027 begins.

Patulous Eustachian tube dysfunction is a condition where the Eustachian tube—which normally opens and closes to regulate ear pressure—stays abnormally open.
