The track got its initial reveal during Jaehyun's solo fan-con 'Mono,' where he performed the song for attendees. Following the fan-con debut, SM Entertainment officially announced the single's release through a teaser that went live on July 3 at 12 a.m. KST.

This marks another solo project from the NCT member, who has been building his individual presence alongside his group activities. The timing of releasing 'Mono' performance footage to fans before the official single drop has become a common strategy in K-pop, creating anticipation and rewarding those who attended the event.
