Stray Kids' Seungmin is stepping back from some of the group's comeback promotions this week to focus on his recovery. JYP Entertainment announced on August 7 KST that the member would sit out certain activities surrounding the release of their mini album THIS & THAT, which dropped the same day.

Seungmin will skip the live broadcasts for both Music Bank (August 7) and Show! Music Core (August 8), as well as Stationhead listening parties on both dates and the Melon Music Wave event on August 7. However, he is still taking part in pre-recordings for both music shows and the Music Core mini fan meeting.

The label attributed the absences to his ongoing rehabilitation treatment. Back in March, JYP revealed that Seungmin had been diagnosed with a suspected stress fracture in his left ankle, which was later confirmed. Since then, the member has periodically stepped back from group activities to undergo treatment.

In their statement, JYP said they've been "continuously monitoring the artist's condition and recovery progress and adjusting the extent of his schedule participation accordingly." The label noted they considered Seungmin's own desire to participate but ultimately followed medical specialists' advice that rehabilitation is necessary for a speedy recovery.

"While taking the artist's strong desire into consideration, we have continued to adjust his participation in scheduled activities as much as possible," JYP wrote. "However, based on the medical specialists' advice that rehabilitation treatment is essential for a speedy recovery, he will not be participating in the schedules listed above and will instead undergo treatment."

The agency apologized to fans disappointed by his absence and reiterated their commitment to prioritizing Seungmin's health throughout his recovery.
