Crunchyroll has added Assassination Classroom the Movie: Our Time to its library, bringing the long-running franchise back to screens with a fresh installment that goes beyond typical movie tie-in territory.

The film debuted on Crunchyroll Thursday at 8:00 p.m. EDT with Japanese audio and subtitles in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. An English dub is also available, featuring the returning cast from the television series.

Directed by Masaki Kitamura at studio Lerche, the film represents more than just a 10th anniversary celebration. According to original manga creator Yūsei Matsui, it serves as a genuine continuation of the story. The film's main draw is its inclusion of manga chapters that were cut from the TV adaptation due to time constraints—essentially giving fans the "complete" version of the story they've been missing.

The cast members who voiced their characters throughout the two TV seasons (which aired in 2015 and 2016) return for the film. The production also features character designs by Aya Higami and a script by Makoto Uezu, both returning from previous Assassination Classroom projects. Singer-songwriter Sora Tomonari performs the theme song "Teacher," while the insert track "Machine Gun to Rashinban" is performed by the cast under the unit name 3-nen E-gumi Utatan—the same group name used for TV anime songs.

The film originally opened in Japan on March 20, distributed by Avex Film Labels. This marks the third anime film in the Assassination Classroom franchise, following a 2016 theatrical release. The series also spawned two live-action adaptations in 2015 and 2016.

For English-speaking viewers stateside, Assassination Classroom has had ongoing availability through Toonami, which began airing the first season in August 2020 and picked up the second season in 2022. The original manga by Yūsei Matsui ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2012 to 2016, ultimately spanning 21 volumes.
