Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Gets Animated Teaser by Masami Ōbari
SNK released an animated video for its fighting game featuring legendary animator Masami Ōbari directing and teasing a new character reveal for Season Pass 2.

SNK dropped an animated teaser for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, bringing heavyweight animation talent to promote the fighting game's ongoing character roster expansion.
Masami Ōbari, the legendary animator behind Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture and The King of Fighters XV, took on multiple roles for the project: director, storyboarder, chief animation director, and creative producer. Character designer Reiji Sakagami also served as chief animation director and key animator. Studio G-1 Neo and Asahi Production handled the animation production.
The video teases the arrival of a new character as part of Season Pass 2, which has been rolling out fighters throughout 2026. Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star is scheduled to debut in June as part of the same pass. Earlier DLC additions included Kim Jae Hoon (January), Nightmare Geese (February), Blue Mary (March), Wolfgang Krauser (April), and Mr. Karate (May).
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves launched in April 2025 across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms. The game has become known for ambitious crossovers and unexpected guest fighters. Season Pass 1 brought Street Fighter's Ken and Chun-Li to the roster, while the game's character library also includes unconventional additions like DJ Salvatore Ganacci, soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo, and Hokutomaru.
The roster rounds out with returning Fatal Fury favorites like Terry Bogard, Andy Bogard, Mai Shiranui, Geese Howard, and B. Jenet, plus newcomers Preecha and Vox Reaper. SNK announced the game at EVO 2022, marking the franchise's first major entry in over two decades since 1999's Garou: Mark of the Wolves.
Fatal Fury remains one of SNK's cornerstone franchises, having launched in arcades in 1991 and spawning the separate King of Fighters crossover series. With Ōbari's involvement lending prestige animation to the fighting game space, SNK appears committed to making City of the Wolves a multimedia event alongside its gameplay offerings.
