The comedy anime adaptation of Hiroshi Kurao's Elegy for the Henchmen: Fist of the North Star spinoff manga is coming back for more laughs this July. Part 2 kicks off July 6 on AT-X at 8:00 p.m. JST and Tokyo MX at 9:54 p.m. JST, with the Animate Times streaming service getting the premiere at 9:00 p.m. JST that same day. The anime lands on broader platforms like Hulu Japan, d Anime Store, and ABEMA starting July 13.

The new promotional materials show off fresh theme songs bookending each episode. The Candellz handles the opening with "I'm a Loser," while the three-member group Itsuka▶ (Itsuka Saisei) returns for the ending theme "Shiroi Chō ga Tondara" (When a White Butterfly Flies), featuring Dr. Washington and guitarist Tsuyoshi Ujiki.

The series follows Nobu, an ordinary guy just trying to survive as a grunt in Ken-Oh's army during a post-apocalyptic future. The premise is absurdist comedy gold: the company offers three meals a day, room and board, and no experience needed—the catch being that casualties vastly outnumber job openings. Hiro Shimono voices Nobu, with support from Shinnosuke Ogami as Zaku, Masaaki Yano as Buzz, and Shinya Takahashi as narrator.

Do-Raku is producing the anime with Takuma Hase and Yūma Saitō directing and editing. Daisuke Miura handles animation direction, while Mirai Iwai oversees art and color design. Seiji Miura composed the score.

Part 1 aired back in January on the same channels, introducing audiences to this quirky spinoff of the Hokuto no Ken universe. The original manga ran from November 2017 to February 2020 on Coamix's Manga Hot app, wrapping up in three volumes. This comedy exists alongside the new mainline Fist of the North Star anime adaptation that premiered in April and streams worldwide on Amazon Prime Video—so there's plenty of post-nuclear wasteland content for fans right now.
