Cyborg 009: Nemesis has added veteran voice actor Mamoru Miyano to its cast as Cyborg 002/Jet Link, the supersonic flyer of the cyborg team. The announcement comes as Ishimori Production continues assembling the full voice roster for the new anime adaptation of Shōtarō Ishinomori's legendary manga.

Jet Link rounds out the nine-member cyborg ensemble, joining Yūki Kaji as protagonist Joe Shimamura/Cyborg 009 and previously announced cast members including Saori Hayami, Tomokazu Sugita, and Hiroki Yasumoto. The series also features an antagonistic team known as the Nemesis group, led by Yūichi Nakamura's Graviton/Nemesis 009.

The story follows Black Ghost, a shadowy global organization determined to plunge the world into endless conflict. The group captures nine individuals and converts them into cyborg soldiers, but the cyborgs rebel against their creators and fight back. This premise has powered multiple anime adaptations and films since the original manga debuted in 1964.

Hideki Ambo directs at Arect, with Atsuhiro Tomioka (Pokémon) and CHARATEX handling the screenplay. Character designer sanorin brings the cyborg team to life visually. The opening theme "Taga Tame ni" (For Whom) features Kyōko from rock band Barbee Boys—the same song used in the classic 1979 Cyborg 009 TV series, originally performed by Ken Narita and Koorogi '73.

The franchise has proven remarkably durable across six decades. Beyond the original manga, it spawned anime series in 1968, 1979, and 2001, plus theatrical films in 1966, 1967, and 1980. More recent projects include the 2012 film 009 Re:Cyborg and the 2016 Cyborg 009 Call of Justice movie. The property even crossed over with Devilman in a 2015 OVA.

Cyborg 009: Nemesis will stream this summer, introducing this foundational manga to new audiences while giving longtime fans a fresh take on the classic cyborg squad.
