Way of the Househusband Gets New Anime Special Video
A new promotional anime video for The Way of the Househusband manga premiered on YouTube, featuring original content from Tatsu's yakuza past. The special celebrates the 17th volume release and marks 25 years of the Bunch imprint.

The Way of the Househusband is getting fresh anime content. Shinchosha's Comic Bunch brand released a new "special" anime promotional video on YouTube that shows a scene exclusive to the animation—Tatsu raiding a rival gang's headquarters during his previous life as a yakuza enforcer.
The returning voice cast brings the action to life, with Kenjirō Tsuda voicing Tatsu and Shizuka Itō returning as Miku. Both actors reprise their roles from the manga's existing anime adaptation.
The timing isn't random. The video marks two anniversaries: the release of the manga's 17th volume and 25 years since the Bunch imprint's debut. Creator Kousuke Oono launched the series on Shinchosha's Kurage Bunch website back in February 2018, and it's since become a multimedia franchise.
For English readers, Viz Media continues publishing the manga stateside, with the 15th volume arriving in January. The anime adaptation has had multiple releases across platforms. Netflix premiered the first part globally in April 2021 with five episodes, followed by a second part in October 2021. A full second season arrived on Netflix in January 2023.
Beyond animation, the franchise has expanded significantly. A live-action series premiered in October 2020, with a six-part epilogue special following in May 2022. A live-action film adaptation hit Japanese theaters in June 2022.
The new special video represents a rare bit of original anime content for the franchise, which makes it worth checking out if you've followed Tatsu's journey from ruthless yakuza to devoted househusband. Head to the official Comic Bunch YouTube channel to watch.
