Japanese djent outfit PARAMENA is gearing up for its next chapter with significant lineup additions and fresh creative direction. Following their May 17 solo show—the final performance with former guitarist Saya and bassist Fuuta—the band has welcomed support guitarist Yosei (Crisis Slave) and 6-string bassist Taiyo (HAILROSE) into the fold.

The expanded ensemble now boasts an impressive arsenal: Yosei will handle both 7- and 8-string guitars while Taiyo joins as a 6-string bassist, bringing the total string count to 30 across the stage. Alongside core members yu-to (vocals), zima and MASAToooN! (8-string guitars), and Shunya (drums), the reinforced lineup positions the band for increasingly ambitious performances.

Beyond personnel shifts, PARAMENA is introducing a new sonic framework called "Structure Metal" with their forthcoming second album, slated for late 2026. The project promises to expand their compositional range while maintaining the band's signature heavy low tunings, intricate rhythms, and atmospheric textures. The new direction will blend death metal, nu-metal, mathcore, industrial, and ambient elements across individual tracks for varied sonic experiences.

The timing reflects PARAMENA's rapid ascent since forming in March 2023 under the mission to "define a new standard of djent." The band made headlines by winning Metal Battle Japan 2024, securing representation at Germany's Wacken Open Air festival. They notably set a record for the shortest time between formation and winning the prestigious competition.
